Titan's Release Video

Creative Brief

To create an engaging and informative piece that educates players about the new Titan's mechanic and card type in the Hearthstone franchise while building excitement for the upcoming Titans expansion.

Execution

Tone and style:

Create a cohesive design that matches the promo video used to market the Titan's expansion. This was done by finding sound effects and visual effects that matched the ones that were used in the original promo.

Making it interactive:

Create a cohesive design that matches the promo video used to market the Titan's expansion. This was done by finding sound effects and visual effects that matched the ones that were used in the original promo.

Incorporating gameplay:

We wanted to show the actual gameplay of the titan mechanic so players could gain a clear and accurate understanding of the new feature.

Yogg Week Card Announcements

Creative Brief

We were tasked to craft content that voices Yogg Saron, one of the game's iconic characters. The challenge was to ensure that all the content for the week seamed like Yogg-Saron's was the one making it and posting it.

Execution

Tone and style:

Yogg Saron wants the world to burn; he loves chaos and himself. We wanted to make the content have Yogg featured everywhere to match his style and voice.

Making it Yoggy:

We used lots of tentacles, animated some slime using the liquify tool and some blending options. Sound effects of squishy sounds were also used to enhance the Yogginess of the posts.

Making it slap:

We aimed to captivate the viewers by breaking the fourth wall and making them feel directly engaged. To achieve this, we introduced a screen crack effect, which created the illusion that Yogg's massive tentacle was bursting through the screen to present the cards.

Animating the tentacles:

This was done by using the puppet tool and carefully applying starch to areas to maintain the form of the tentacle. I also added additional details for realism.

Blizzcon Duel A Dev

Creative Brief

The challenge was to leverage Blizzard-themed assets as supportive visuals to effectively convey to players they are getting the opportunity to face off against the developers within their own game.

Execution

Tone and style:

We were given specific brand guidelines from the assets of blizzcon, so part of the challenge was using these visuals to create excitement and bring some hype to the event.

Going to battle:

After finding a battle scene I realized I could leverage the footage by zoning in on a key moment and using that with some editing contuinity and sound effects to transition into the scene where the info on the event would live.

Badlands Wanted Posters & Key Art

Design a set of Old West-style "Wanted" posters and key art to promote Hearthstone's Badlands/Outlaws-themed expansion, giving each featured character a bounty-poster identity that reinforces the outlaw fantasy of the set.

Execution

Tone and style:

Leaned into a weathered, sepia-toned poster aesthetic — distressed paper textures, cracked ink typography, and hand-drawn star ratings — to sell the "frontier bounty hunter" feel rather than a clean, modern game-marketing look.

Building the cast:

Each poster paired a character's portrait with a bounty amount and tagline scaled to their threat level, from Gunslinger Kurtrus's $10,000 bounty up to Elise, Badlands Savior's $100,000 as leader of the Outlaws — using reward size as a quick visual cue for narrative importance.

Cross-faction key art:

The Outlaws vs. Bloodrock split composition was built to tease the expansion's central conflict in a single image, using a hard diagonal divide and contrasting color temperature (warm sepia vs. cool blue) to visually separate the two factions.

Text Conversation with Thorimmessenger

Creative Brief

Reveal a new card by presenting it as a text-message conversation with Thorim, using a familiar, personal format to make the reveal feel more like a story moment than a straightforward announcement.

Execution

Tone and style:

Styled the video like a real messaging app UI, with message bubbles and typing indicators timed to the reveal, so the card announcement plays out like a piece of the game's story rather than a straightforward marketing beat.

Hearthstone Spells Reveal Video

Creative Brief

Create a card reveal video introducing a new wave of spell cards, highlighting each spell's mechanic and effect to build excitement ahead of the set's release.

Execution

Tone and style:

Matched the pacing and sound design to the game's own VFX and audio cues so each spell reveal felt consistent with how the card would actually play out in a real match.
